Tonight, Let’s Talk host Gary Moreno will facilitate what promises to be a lively debate between LEGALIZED GAMBLING proponents Tony Brannon, Ed Trippe, Norman Mastalair and lone dissenter, former PLP spokesperson Corry Butterfield.

Government recently introduced a discussion paper on gambling (a green paper) to determine the feasibility of such a change in laws. Some say gambling would bolster tourism figures, while the religious community warns it could destroy the community’s moral fabric.

What do you think? (Some comments on the forum will be read on-air).

TONIGHT [March 1, 2010] Hon. Walter Roban

March 1, 2010

Minister of Health Walter Roban is Gary’s guest and will talk about Government’s controversial ‘Future Care’ health care scheme for seniors.  Mr. Roban’s appearence shadows public complaints today from seniors’ advocacy group Age Concern, which says Government’s decision to raise the scheme’s premiums, came as a suprise.

The organization’s executive director Claudette Fleming told ZBM News today, Government’s raising of the monthly premiums to$600 was “reckless”.  Furthermore, she says Government failed to gather and act on information from the community, which indicates seniors are the most struggling group in this economic recession.
